With Christmas just around the corner and gift-giving season in full swing, what parent doesn’t want to make their child’s wish list come true?
Remember though, when it comes to kids, gifts and gadgets, moderation and discipline are truly the gifts that keep on giving.
Smartphones, tablets, laptops, televisions… Like it or not, expensive technology isn’t just for adults anymore, and with the level of technology available at the fingertips of children and adults alike, it’s easy for all to get carried away.
Set aside time every day to “disconnect.” Try to make time after school - maybe before homework - to get outside with your kids and do something fun in the fresh air. If the weather is bad, then find an activity indoors, but away from any computers, phones or televisions.
This goes for adults as well. To stay truly “connected,” you need more than a power button.
