With Halloween only a few days away, it’s time to begin preparation for the candy, crazy costumes, and scary decorations. Besides the costumes, candy is probably the most important piece to Halloween.
What do you choose?
Chocolaty or fruity? Sour or sweet? Healthy? No food? These are the tough questions that we all face every Halloween. With all the food allergies today, I like to have a variety. You have to be fair for all of the peanut, gluten, or any other type of allergy.
Do you get full size or fun size?
From what I hear(kids), fun-sized candy is nowhere near as fun as full sized candy bars. For me, I found the best option is to go to a warehouse store (like BJ's or Costco), and buy a box of candy bars. I buy the kind I like because if there are any left, I can eat them! LOL
Do you buy the "Big" names or Bigger bang for your buck candy?
Since most of us are on a budget, I found staying away from the big names usually gives you your best bang for your buck! For example, the Wonka Mixup Bag includes 115 pieces of candy, which will cost you $10. For $15, you can get Farley's Candy Mixup Bag with 365 pieces of assorted candy.
Watch for discounts!
I find watching and waiting for coupons or sales save me much more money. Today, coupons are very easy to find, especially on the Internet. Also look out for two-for-one deals or buy one get the second half-off.
Ugh, all this talk of candy is getting my sweet tooth excited! LOL
So what are your favorite Halloween candies and what are you planning on handing out this Halloween?
