Nutrition is Key to Starting Back-to-School Season Strong

It’s been an unforgettable summer, but there’s little time for looking back as we charge full speed ahead into Back-to-School season. So how do we keep that momentum going strong?

It’s important to establish a school day routine that’s healthy and potent from the outset, and that all starts with proper nutrition. 

For school lunches, you can never go wrong with the staples: fruit, protein and a LOT of water. 

My kids love chicken, and we all eat tons of fruit—grapes, strawberries, bananas. Yogurt is a great snack to add even more variety to the fruit. They’re allowed to bring a water bottle to school, so I always pack a few of those as well.

I believe in educating my kids about making their own choices. Kids love to make decisions for themselves; so why not let them? Give them options and then let them choose.

It all starts with teaching your kids that “you are what you eat.” If you put good things into your system, your body will reward you with great results.
