Where local moms share, learn and grow together.

Nutrition is vital to any long-term lifestyle and training routine, and that’s especially important when planning healthy meals for your family.

I believe in the importance of educating my kids about making their own choices and not forcing any single option on them.  Kids love to make decisions for themselves; so why not let them?

For school lunches, you can never go wrong with the staples: fruit, protein and a LOT of water.  Knowing that, try giving them a few options and letting them choose what gets packed.

My kids love chicken, and we all eat tons of fruit – grapes, strawberries, bananas. Yogurt is as great snack to add even more variety to the fruit.

Luckily, they are allowed to bring a water bottle to school, so I always pack a few of those as well.

Teach your kids that “you are what you eat,” that if you put good things into your system, you are going to get great results. If they understand that, they’re ready to start making their own choices.
