October is my absolute favorite month of the year. The weather becomes crisp, the colors are vibrant, and I become a big kid on Halloween. There are so many fun activities to do with the kids at this time of year too! I’ve rounded up some fun events that are sure to put the spirit in Halloween.
Storybook Land: If you have never visited Storybook Land with your kids, you are missing out. It is fun all year round, but their special events can’t be beat. They have special October hours Thursday through Sunday and their events include hayrides, a hay maze, and pumpkin decorating. Dress up in your favorite costume for their two trick-or-treat weekends and trick-or-treat around the park!
Jenkinson’s Boardwalk: We tend to think of the boardwalk as a summer activity, however, Jenkinson’s keeps the fun going all fall long. Be sure to check out their upcoming Boo at the Boardwalk weekends! Kids can trick-or-treat along the boardwalk, participate in fun games, crafts, and activities, and visit the aquarium which is decked out in its Halloween finery.
Allaire State Park: The Historic Village turns into a haunted village in time for Halloween. Have your fortune told by a gypsy fortune teller, listen to stories in the Carriage House, visit the mansion for some spooky re-enactments, and take a haunted hay ride through the woods.
Tuckerton Seaport: The Haunted Seaport makes a return. Watch out for the pirates and sea captains roaming about! Explore the haunted lighthouse, embark on a hayride, play black-light mini golf, pick a pumpkin in the non-scary pumpkin patch, or take a ride aboard the Black Pearl Pirate Ship.
Sesame Place: The Halloween Spectacular features two new Halloween shows, a themed maze, and a character hayride. All dry rides are open to enjoy, and the characters all dress up in costume!
