New Year New You. I have heard this a billion times. This cliche marketing quote is a solid for new years resolutions. But are you REALLY READY for a new you? If so, you have to work for it. Change habits and find a solid support group.
Want to succeed?!? This is what you need!
So Cliché, LIFESTYLE CHANGE. You have heard it before, but it’s the truth. It is what I have built my business on. It is what I believe, and what works. After having a baby, most of us think, OMG, I have to lose weight, get back to pre baby weight, etc. That is only a small part of what it should be. You are a mom now, you have this beautiful creation to take care of, and you want to teach them healthy habits and ideas.
Do you know what came up in my boot camp class…Continue

That is my 2014 motto. Even as a fitness expert, we can fall off the wagon, no one, and I mean one is prefect fitness and nutrition wise. And that is OK. BUT, I do believe that eating healthy, not only makes you look and feel better, I first hand now know that it can get me through crazy times and still feel good. Let me explain. As a mom of 3, I do not have time to play Martha Stewart. We are in the process of buying a new house, kids are…Continue
I know it is easy to gain the holiday 10 lbs. But you CAN get around it. Commitment to your workouts (even if they are 30 minutes a day) and proper nutrition will save the day! Your nutrition is the key in this equation. Lots of junk will bloat you, pack on empty excess calories and make you feel like garbage. No one wants that during the holiday season.
For you, for your family and for your sanity, there are some easy rules to follow to keep these pounds at…Continue

So how are you going to do this?
Grab your calendar: Schedule your appointment with yourself and your workout. Look at your time and be realistic. If you have 30 minutes, schedule 30 minutes. If you have that hour, go for it. But use that time and focus…Continue

I grew up playing outdoors from then the sun came up until it went down at night. I grew up playing outside and at the beach. We ran, we jump roped, we rode bikes, played hopscotch, we body surfed and we played man hunt.
With the obesity rate in children at an astonishing rate, parents need to step up and take charge. The TV is not a babysitter (even though I am guilty every once in a while of that happening!). We need our kids to be active, move and enjoy…Continue

The holidays can be overwhelming, food, food and more food! I know right now, I look at my 3 boys and dread cooking anything. I was in the mood the other day for a "comfort food" type meal, but didn't want all the guilt after. I found a killer recipe, one that I had my doubts about. Every time I try a "healthy" comfort food recipe, I feel like its missing something. This one is missing NOTHING! I swear. Even…Continue
It’s too cold
It’s getting dark too early
I have the winter blahs
Sound familiar? When it gets cold outside, it sometimes can be hard to motivate. The holidays can be overwhelming and classic comfort food just sounds so yummy. But think of 5 weeks from now, when you are mad at yourself for putting on those extra 5 lbs. just because if the holidays or even worse, lame excuses.
Cold has nothing to do with not being able to…Continue
In the past few weeks, communities have come together in a way that makes me proud to be from NJ. I am a Jersey girl; Jersey girls do not give up. We are strong, and we will rebuild, I believe that. But the stress of what we are going through, what we are seeing and feeling, can really put our bodies into a state of shock. And as moms, we need to not only worry about ourselves, but our children who need us to be on the ball 24/7.…Continue
Saturday morning was an odd morning in my house. I am usually out of the house early for work, workout, etc. I did not have anything scheduled so we decided not to set an alarm, get up with the kids and have coffee together.
My middle son looked at my husband and said, "Dad, when are you going for your workout?" This is also a norm, when i get home, my husband usually goes to the gym if there is no game or practice to attend. We both started to laugh when he followed his question…Continue

This love of mine is a complete protein, whole grain, delivers 20% of our daily fiber requirement and also considered a relative to green leafy vegetables like spinach and swiss chard. I also love the fact i can eat it for a meal, snack, breakfast and throw it in muffins,…Continue

OK OK...so i slipped up and didn't post my second tip a few weeks back. My apologies, and I am here now to talk to all you fad diet junkies out there. You know who you are, Atkins, Grapefruit, Cabbage Soup, The Zone, South Beach, etc. You know them. WHY is it that people lose the weight but it just comes right back??
These fad diets create wishful thinking, the quick fix, and everything in between. And guess what mammas? The people who market and create them are making…Continue

So we know how hard it is for us to lose that baby weight, but now the holidays are upon us, and all the temptations are surrounding us everywhere! Even worse, did you know that most Americans do not lose the extra few lbs they put on during the holidays? So year after year, those extra lbs add up and factor in to the American obesity epidemic. …Continue
So I am 9 weeks post partum with my 3rd c-section. I only gained 24 pounds during my pregnancy. I am lucky. I have not gained more than 28 pounds in my pregnancy’s each time. I have lost all my baby weight with each angel we have brought into this world, taught classes until 36 weeks pregnant and as much as I complained, I had very limited complications. I am lucky. Maybe it’s genetics, lifestyle, and a little bit of luck? Who knows…but what I do know is it’s hard…Continue
