We are officially Team Pink, and it's exciting (and nervewrecking?)!

So months ago (if not years ago), if you asked me, I would say I someday would want a daughter in my life.  Having had my son first, my husband and I lately were thinking, "Hey, he's been easy, why rock the boat?  Two boys would be great -- they could be best friends, share clothes and toys, and be mirror images of each other." Plus, I was a tad-worried -- admittedly -- that I would go crazy buying clothes like hair bows, pink dresses, and a million "girlie" things.  I saw myself devouring…

Tips For Easing Homework and Schoolwork Anxiety

Back to school means back to schoolwork and homework. The start of another school year can often be overwhelming for both children and parents. Making the transition from a carefree summer to a structured school routine proves difficult for everyone. I know I'm only about 20 weeks along, but I feel like I'm 7-months pregnant after I eat!  (And when we eat late, i.e. after 13-month-old Dylan goes down for a later bedtime, it's even worse...having to try to sleep when you feel like you just ate a 5-course meal is not easy.)

Case in…

2nd Time Around, and Some Early and Strong KICKS!

So it’s been “flutters” and butterfly kicks for weeks if almost 2 months now (I swear I've been feeling 'something' since about 12 weeks)…but this past week I’ve noticed the kicks and movements for Baby #2 feel a bit different. They’re definitely stronger, which makes sense because at around this week (Week 18) the baby’s bones are starting to harden.

Even if it's the second time around, it’s still so exciting!  I’m actually trying to put my hand on my belly…

Combat the Chaos of Back-to-School Time

Who doesn't love this time of year? Back-to-school signifies many things: The start of a new {school} year, cool new supplies, some trendy clothes and brand new shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes and more. It's also a hectic time for parents. Everyone is working out the kinks in the schedules, getting kids started with activities and, personally, sometimes I feel like all I do is write checks! There are ways to simplify and start of the year with fewer hiccups. Here’s how:
