Tips For Getting Your Children To Read During the Summer

For as long as I can remember I've had a love of reading. I think it started in first grade when I first learned to read, and it continues today. When I had children, my hope was to instill that same love of reading in them. I think I've done a pretty good job of that, but summers can be a challenge. A Day At the Museum

Summer time is time to be spent exploring with our littles:)

We just got in from an amazing day and thought why not share our experience.

We drove to the Gene Autry Museum

We kept the day country themed.

We even wore our best western get up:)

Afterwards, we went on horseback and ate dinner like cowboys would.

Told stories of the west and had a fire pit.

Stay tuned for the next themed adventure.

Happy Trails

I just had the first 'sex talk' with my 4-year-old!

So for a while now, perhaps two years or so, we have been talking to my soon-to-be 4-year-old about pregnant mommies having "babies in their tummies." Then when a good friend had a baby almost 6 months ago, my son said, "So, mommy, how does the baby come OUT?" That turned into a light discussion of labor and delivery for the younger set, with some eventual toddler translation: "She pooped the baby out?!!!"

I never really thought much about these discussions and the possibilities of… Continue
