Balance

Today, after seven months of having all my children in school “full day,” I am trying to figure out what’s next. Having felt like I was shot out of a cannon back in October, no longer being responsible for feeding, changing, enriching, activities, and therapies during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., I now feel like I am still up in the air, just hanging in this limbo. The Two Most Important Letters in Mother’s Day: M.E.?

Like every mom, there are times when I doubt my ability.



Do I spend too much time working? Do I hover too much, overprotecting my son? Am I providing enough intellectually stimulating activity or do I allow him to watch too much TV? (Team Umizoomi does teach mighty math skills: that’s intellectually stimulating, right?) Do I have the right parenting style? Am I the Perfectionist Mother or the Complete Mother?

Turning Mother’s Day Into Me Day

One need only walk into a local drug store this week to see the proliferation of Mother’s Day cards and assorted accoutrements (Chocolate! Roses! Chocolate Roses!).
