In addition to contributing here at Meridian Momtourage, I am the Monmouth County Regional Editor at JerseyBites.com. At Jersey Bites, I write about everything from restaurant reviews to food happenings in and around the county.
My passion for writing and my educational background in English, creative writing and literature led me to start my own blog 2 years ago. Pieces of a Mom is a personal account of my trials, tribulations, successes, and yes, failures as a mother.
My blog has cultivated a love for all things social media. You can find me working my magic on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+, and Foursquare on any given day.
In addition to writing, I enjoy photography, reading, traveling, wine tasting, and adventure seeking.
For more dirt on me, visit my About Me page on my personal blog.

Back to school means back to schoolwork and homework. The start of another school year can often be overwhelming for both children and parents. Making the transition from a carefree summer to a structured school routine proves difficult for everyone. The combination of more complex academic topics and additional hours of homework can lead to anxiety for children of any age. This fall I sent my youngest off to kindergarten and my oldest to the 4th grade. Since the day they stepped off the bus…

Each morning you wake, usually in response to the cries of a child or to the buzzing of an alarm. As you bound out of bed, you anticipate the day that lies ahead of you. If you are like many moms, most, if not all, of your day will be spent tending to the needs of others.
Whether it's our own children or someone else's, or our bosses, our employees, or our spouses, most of us spend the majority of our days focusing on everyone but ourselves. Most moms are guilty…
