hello! I'm new to the area and prego with twins! I'm looking for opinions on ob's in the area. I'm in the medical field and finding it hard to switch without knowing how a doctor is on the delivery room, OR, and so forth. Any l&d nurses out there...i welcome the comments!! Any feedback would be great? Also, any experiences with jsumc nicu would be great too! Thanks!!:)

What area are you in?  I delivered twice a Riverview, with Dr Tsong (Riverview Womens Health).  They have a great group of doctors with offices in Little Silver and Hazlet.

I'm in howell.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with any in Howell. Good luck!

Dr. Van Horn delivered both of my children at Jersey Shore.  He is fabulous. His office is in Wall right on Rt. 138.  You should look him up!

thanks! Any one have info on Dr. Morgan or Dr.Aikman?

Any one have info on Dr. Morgan or Dr. Aikman?

Dr. Aikman is great.  She was in the old practice that I used to go to before Dr. Van Horn started his own practice.

Thanks chrissy, just met with her but they dont routinely do ultrasound in office even with high risk patients, only mfm do sono. Called dr.vanhorn but he doesn't do ob anymore. thanks so much!

Dr. Baum and Dr. Rattigan at Jersey Shore OBGYN (offices in Freehold and Neptune) are AMAZING.  I so highly recommend them :-)

Dr Van Horn was great, but he is no longer doing OB (as you have found out)  He/his office recommended Rattigan to me-he trained her.  I did try out Morgan but was not impressed  AT ALL.  I, who am considered high risk for variety of reasons, am in the medicine field as is my spouse- and did not feel comfortable with him, not as attentive as we would have preferred.  I switched to Hammonds/Tsong/Jacoby/Jaskowitz.  Really like the group, they came recommended by another physician at hospital.  The Perinatal Institute, which you will see no matter which group you choose, is phenomenal.  Each doctor in this group has made me feel that I was in excellent hands.  Wish they delivered, but they just do the maternal/fetal medical management.  The delivery area at Riverview just underwent a multi million dollar renovation and updates/upgrades-super LDR's from what I have heard.  They actually have certain amenities that you would expect if you were a celebrity or something.  The NICU at JSUMC comes highly recommended, so I have heard.  I have dealt with the Staff pediatricians that cover JSUMC/NICU and they also come highly reguarded.

thanks ks! I checked out the group you mentioned a few weeks ago, heard great things too but they only deliver at riverview, and riverview doesn't have level 3 NICU, only monmouth and jersey shore. I got a good impression from morgan, and seemed to answers all my 30 questions...but I guess I won't know till I go as a patient....and after 5 doc interviews, I have to decide soon. I agree being in the medical field doesn't help. Thanks again for the response, every little bit helps!!
