Where local moms share, learn and grow together.

Becoming a parent by blending families or marrying someone with kids can be a rewarding and fulfilling experience. If you've never had kids, you'll get the opportunity to share your life with a younger person and help to shape his or her character.

What are some things you've learned by becoming a step-parent?

Hmm, I can do an entire blog post on this topic!  I have a big, blended "Brady Bunch" family - I have 2 kids, and my husband has 3.  The biggest thing I learned by becoming a step-parent is that the word "step" should be omitted from your vocabulary, as well as anyone who will be apart of your new, blended family.  This goes for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I recently posted on my own blog about the word "step" and why I feel so strongly against it {you can check out my post here}
